Inter-Section I: Tourism

A tourist is a passing visitor, somebody granted temporary status but not entitled to live, work, or otherwise participate in the everyday affairs of the City. According to modern convention, a visitor or a tourist is not a participator or producer in the Global City. They are limited by time and capability to being a spectator and consumer. Like all cities around the world, Berlin encourages tourists to come, of course, is very happy to receive them, but only for a while. Like other temporary visitors, even guest workers, asylum seekers, and refugees, tourists can fill a space in this New Global Citadel, but only temporarily ... as passing transient visitors.
