Resolving the dilemma of the incomprehensibility of communication between Self and Other in the Global City seems partly to depend on maintaining a respect for each Other, even in silence, and partly in discerning when to withhold or withdraw into-beyond the Self's location and when to uncloak and become an Other-Self in language. Danger remains, however, whether we turn our backs and leave that animal locked up in its cage or we look it straight into its enraged eyes.
